Domaine Ponsot, based in Morey-Saint-Denis, is one of the oldest estates on the Côte and has long worked in an idiosyncratic way, picking late, keeping yields very low and using no new oak. This parcel was replanted following the 2012 harvest with mass-selection cuttings at 11,000 vines per hectare, and for the time being only the best of the fruit goes into the cuvée, with the remainder declassified into the domaine's Bourgogne rouge.
