Ponsot's first domaine bottling dates back to 1970. The vines lie in the Gémeaux lieu-dit, which borders Cherbaudes, and in En la Chapelle, which in turn borders En Griotte. Soils here are particularly poor and rocky, and typically produce a wine of pronounced minerality and long life rather than early flesh. Jasper Morris has noted that the cuvée now sees a longer cuvaison but with less extraction and lower fermentation temperatures, a change that suits the site: the wine keeps its grand cru frame while gaining transparency, and the domaine's use of neutral oak leaves nothing between the drinker and the vineyard.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eGive it eight to ten years, with two decades of life beyond.
