Ponsot's holding sits in Gémeaux, bordering Cherbaudes and En la Chapelle, which in turn abuts En Griotte. The soils there are poor and notably rocky, a combination that tends to give wines of pronounced minerality and long life rather than early flesh. The vines were replanted in 1990. The domaine, one of the oldest in Morey-Saint-Denis and long known for late picking and neutral élevage, now gives this cuvée a longer time on skins with gentler extraction than in the past, which has made the wine more supple in its youth without costing it structure.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eCellar for eight to ten years and drink over the following fifteen.
