The Ponsot parcel sits in the Gémeaux lieu-dit, bordering Cherbaudes and En la Chapelle, which in turn adjoins En Griotte. The vines were replanted in 1990. Soils here are poor and notably rocky, with limited water-holding capacity, and they tend to give wines with a firm mineral spine and the structure to age at length rather than obvious early flesh. Vinification has shifted in recent years towards a longer time on skins with gentler extraction, which draws out aromatic detail and finer tannin without pushing the wine towards weight for its own sake.
