Les Perrières is the first Pommard vineyard on the right-hand side of the D974 as you leave the commune of Beaune heading south, sitting beneath the walled Clos des Epeneaux. The name refers to old stone quarries, and the ground here is correspondingly rocky. The Dancer family farm almost a hectare, planted in 2012, and work with very low yields to draw texture from relatively young vines. Théo Dancer destems fully for the reds and extracts lightly, using few punch-downs, then raises the wine in older barrels. The approach produces a Pommard that keeps the commune's frame while staying supple rather than tough.

Approachable from two or three years and good for a decade. Serve at 16-18°C with braised beef, roast lamb or a mushroom ragout.

*Every effort is made to ensure the current vintage is accurate; however, variations can occur.
