Yungarra usually supplies the fruit, but for 2026 the parcels came instead from a north-facing gravelly site at Wilyabrup and a cool-climate vineyard down at Karridale, near the southern end of the region. A wet spring had set a good crop. Picking happened in the cool of the morning, the fruit was fully destemmed, and fermentation ran two weeks on skins in open fermenters before pressing to tank for a full malolactic and a simple rack to bottle. Two weeks is a moderate amount of skin contact, which is the point.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eLighter than most orange wine, with mandarin peel, dried herb and a gentle tannic edge that never turns chewy. Serve at 12 degrees.
