That ridge above the Ngaruroro River is steep and well off the usual Hawke's Bay track, and Rod and Emma Easthope work it between them. There is no fining; a fine pad filter and the bottling line at the winery are the last two steps.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDark berry fruit leads, with five spice and aniseed sitting behind it and polished tannins holding a generous palate in shape. Serve at 16-18C.
