The roll call for Australian Aligoté is short: small parcels in the Whitlands area and at Blind Corner in Margaret River, both grown from cuttings taken from the Mornington mother vineyard that feeds this bottling. Three north-facing rows of vines over 30 years old in sandy grey loam do most of the work, with a handful of younger rows from across the road. Hand-harvested, whole-bunch pressed to a single old 500-litre puncheon, nine months on large, soft lees.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eCitrus, hay, sweet spice and a delicate summer floral lift, all of it over a driven, linear palate. Balanced, energetic, with a nippy grip at the end.
