This comes from three north-facing rows of vines over 35 years old in the sandy grey loams of Tuerong, plus a few younger rows from a site across the road. The leaves are large, soft and matte, quite unlike the glossy Chardonnay foliage beside them. Hand-harvested fruit was pressed as whole bunches into a single old 500-litre puncheon, then held nine months on its large, soft lees.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eCitrus, aniseed and a saline mineral streak, with energy and tension and a nippy grip on the close. Serve cold, around 10 degrees.
