The slope rises from 260 to 340 metres and carries two distinct soils: very poor, shallow granitic sand at the top and progressively heavier clay over granite bedrock in the Bas de Moriers below. Grégoire Hoppenot farms almost three hectares across both sectors, with vine age from thirty-five to ninety years, and reserves the best fruit for this bottling. In recognition of the site's power, the wine spends eight months in a mix of large oak foudre and mature Burgundian barrels that have already seen five vintages.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eApproachable now and worth holding five to eight years.
