Guigal came into these parcels through the purchase of the Grippat and de Vallouit domaines in 2001, adding some of the oldest holdings on the hill to the family estate. The wine is made from Marsanne and Roussanne, the two white varieties permitted in the northern Rhône, grown on decomposed granite too steep for machinery and fermented and aged in oak.
