Free-draining and sun-trapping, it is among the few sites in the region warm enough for this demanding grape. As with the great reds of northern Italy, it spends an extended period in oak before release.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFirm tannin carries red cherry, rose and tar.
