Harmand-Geoffroy is the vineyard’s exclusive producer, and the vines were replanted in 1988. That position at the mouth of the combe is the defining influence on the wine: it is a very cool site, among the last picked in the village, and the constant fresh winds give the wine a mountainous, upright character with pronounced minerality and drive rather than the density found in Gevrey’s warmer crus. The domaine works traditionally, with destemmed fruit, a long fermentation and a measured proportion of new oak, so the site rather than the cellar sets the tone.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAt its best from five years and capable of fifteen or more.
