Winemaker Michael Kerrigan, formerly of Howard Park, bought the estate with a group of partners in 2006. In this blend Shiraz supplies deep plum fruit and a peppery lift, and Tempranillo brings licorice-like savouriness and a firmer tannin frame, giving a more complete wine than either grape would make alone. At 14.5 per cent alcohol it is a full-flavoured style with plenty of flesh.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA natural barbecue red. Serve at around 16 to 18 degrees with chargrilled lamb chops, chorizo, slow-cooked beef ribs or a hard sheep's milk cheese.
