Paolo De Marchi took charge in the 1970s and made Cepparello from 1980, at a time when Chianti Classico rules still obliged growers to blend in white grapes, so a wine of Sangiovese alone had to be sold under the humblest classification available. It is drawn from the estate's best Sangiovese parcels and matured in French oak. Ownership passed to the French group EPI in 2022.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eA wine for roast and grilled meats, bistecca alla fiorentina or aged pecorino; decant and serve at around 18 degrees.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cem\u003e*Every effort is made to ensure the current vintage is accurate; however, variations can occur.
