The Angaston foothills rise on the eastern side of the Barossa Valley towards the Eden Valley, where higher elevation and cooler conditions than the valley floor help preserve freshness in the fruit. The Grenache here grows on bush vines around 150 years old, a legacy of the Barossa's nineteenth century plantings, which survived because the region has never been affected by phylloxera.
