Carelle sous la Chapelle sits in the middle of that slope, just below the chapel from which it takes its name, on shallow soil over hard rock. The domaine is based in Volnay and run by the Bouley family, with Thomas Bouley working alongside his father, farming parcels across the village and into neighbouring Pommard.
