Chambolle-Musigny has the lightest, stoniest soils of the Côte de Nuits, with limestone close to the surface and little clay, and its Pinot Noir is correspondingly delicate. Aux Beaux Bruns is a premier cru on the slope above the village. The domaine's reds have been made with a lighter hand on new oak since Erwan Faiveley took charge in the mid 2000s.
