Les Charmes sits on the lower and middle slope beside Perrières and Genevrières, the three forming the heart of the village's premier cru land. Domaine Faiveley was founded at Nuits-Saint-Georges in 1825 and remains in family hands; its white wine holdings were expanded considerably under Erwan Faiveley, who took charge in the mid 2000s. The wine is fermented and aged in barrel on its lees, with new oak used sparingly.
