Geisberg faces due south on marl, limestone and sandstone, and its thin, free draining soils and sheltered position give Riesling both ripeness and a hard mineral edge. Yields are kept low, the fruit is picked by hand and whole bunch pressed, and fermentation runs slowly before the wine rests on its fine lees in neutral vessels.
