Benoît Moreau works half a hectare of mature vines on the steep upper slopes here under his L'Arlésienne label. The winemaking owes more to the Côte de Beaune than to Beaujolais: the fruit was fully destemmed in 2023 and given a longer, Pinot-like fermentation rather than semi-carbonic maceration, on the reasoning that this transmits more of the site. Moreau favours amphora for this wine, racking it into stainless steel after a year. Hail cut the crop to around 10 hectolitres per hectare, so quantities are very small.

Drink over the next four or five years, lightly chilled, with charcuterie, roast chicken or grilled vegetables. Serve at 14-16°C.

*Every effort is made to ensure the current vintage is accurate; however, variations can occur.
