It was recognised as an appellation in its own right after years as a named terroir within the wider Languedoc. Pèira is Occitan for stone, a reference to the limestone scree and rolled galets the estate works. Les Obriers is the domaine's entry red, 65 per cent Cinsault with 35 per cent Carignan, two varieties long treated as workhorses in the Languedoc and now valued instead for their lightness of touch and their ability to hold acidity in a warm climate.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eBright, peppery and light on its feet for a southern red, it suits charcuterie, grilled vegetables and roast chicken and takes a light chill; serve at around 15 degrees.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cem\u003e*Every effort is made to ensure the current vintage is accurate; however, variations can occur.
