This cuvee comes from an east facing site, which catches the morning sun and keeps the fruit a shade fresher than the full south exposures. The blend is 40 per cent Petite Serine and 60 per cent Syrah; Serine is the old local selection of Syrah, small berried and shy cropping, valued for its perfume and fine tannin and replanted by growers looking for the character of the pre-clonal vineyards.
