The Bret brothers farm it biodynamically, mostly by horse, on Bajocian clay and Jurassic limestone at around 230 metres. Fruit from the older massale-selection vines goes into the single-vineyard Les Quarts, while the younger material is declassified into this wine. The domaine uses no new oak: the wine is raised partly in tank and partly in well-seasoned barrels averaging ten to twelve years of age. Where the estate's other 2020s could be described as sitting more on the fruit, this bottling shows more savouriness, a classy touch of reduction and greater mineral freshness, which makes it the more austere and food-friendly of the pair on release.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDrinking now and good for five or six years.
