Greenock is barely two kilometres away and makes a denser, more ferrous wine; the sandier ground here tends towards perfume and finer tannin, which is why Shawn Kalleske bottles it separately. The winemaking follows the estate pattern: hand-picked fruit, destemming, small open-top fermenters worked by hand, basket pressing, and maturation in French and American hogsheads with a modest new-oak component.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePerfumed and medium to full bodied, with dark cherry, plum and a savoury, spicy edge over supple tannin. Serve at 17 degrees.
