Clos du Four is a parcel of about 1.4 hectares at mid-slope, around 250 metres up, planted in the early 1980s. Its soils are deeper and richer in clay than the neighbouring sites, mixed with limestone fragments from the bedrock, which gives a rounder, more layered wine. The vineyard is certified organic and worked with biodynamic methods. The juice ferments with its own yeasts in large 500 to 700 litre oak casks and stays on fine lees for nine to ten months before bottling under a Diam closure.

Serve chilled but not too cold, about 11 to 12 degrees. Grilled prawns, roast chicken, pork with apples or a creamy fish pie will sit well alongside it. It is lovely young and has the depth to improve for five or six years.

*Every effort is made to ensure the current vintage is accurate; however, variations can occur.
