Then Philippe Viet, a Beaujolais native who had worked a vintage in the Lethbridge cellar, offered him a small parcel of hundred-year-old, biodynamically farmed Régnié fruit to do as he liked with. Nadeson got on a plane and made Cru Beaujolais his own way: hand-picked fruit, a cool spontaneous ferment with partial carbonic maceration, layering crushed and whole-bunch fruit with a fifth left uncrushed, and gentle cap work. After a short rest at Viet's domaine the wine travelled back to Geelong under temperature control to finish in barrel, and went under screwcap in August 2023.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePretty red fruit, blossom and a lift that borders on Nebbiolo-like, then crunch, bright berries and a touch of cherry liqueur richness at the end. Serve at 14 degrees, slightly chilled.
