Fruit comes from the Moorabool Valley home vineyard and a long-established site three kilometres off, lower down on the river flats. The 2017 splits roughly evenly between Merlot and Cabernet Franc, with a little Cabernet Sauvignon, each parcel destemmed and fermented on its own before eighteen months in fine-grained French oak, new and one year old. Ray Nadeson sums it up as a voluptuous palate of dark berry, liquorice and spice, and he is not overselling it.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePlush and dark, with plum, black cherry, liquorice and spice over supple tannin, held together by cool-climate acid. Drinking well now. Serve at 17 degrees.
