The grapes are the Gascon classics: Folle Blanche for florality, Ugni Blanc for freshness, and the hybrid Baco 22A for its rounder, plummier weight. Unlike Cognac, Armagnac is distilled once through a continuous alambic armagnacais at low strength, so more of the raw material survives into the spirit, and it is then aged in local black oak.
