Sandrone's version comes from Cascina Pe Mol, Ravera and Rocche di San Nicola at Novello, and Albarella in the commune of Barolo. The altitude and exposure of these parcels bring freshness and vibrancy, and to balance the acidity and structure the wine is matured in 500-litre tonneaux, around forty per cent of them new. The estate has untoasted barrels made in Burgundy specifically for this cuvée so that the wood makes as little mark as possible; some oak shows on the nose while the wine is young but it integrates with time in bottle.
