The Boschis subzone sits near the northern end of the Cannubi hill, directly across from the Sandrone cellars. Sandrone farms 1.9 hectares of 40-year-old vines in the cru, which enjoys a particularly good south and south-east exposure within a small amphitheatre, or conca, that holds the warmth of the early morning. Soils are marine deposits of calcareous clay with sand, so drainage is excellent. Masnaghetti's Enciclopedia delle Grandi Vigne del Barolo observes that wines from this terroir generally show good body, much elegance and more polished tannins than other Cannubi wines. Vinification matches Le Vigne aside from a little longer on skins, with ageing in mainly used 500-litre French oak casks and bottling without filtration.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDeep, textured and mineral, it needs five years and will run well past fifteen; decant if opened early.
