Luciano Sandrone was the first grower to put the name on a label, in 1985, and the wine was one of the pioneering single-cru bottlings that alerted the wider world to the variation within Barolo’s terroirs. The estate farms three plots here, 1.9 hectares in total, with south and south-easterly exposures, calcareous clay soils carrying some sand, and vines averaging around thirty-seven years. Alessandro Masnaghetti notes that Cannubi Boschis wines carry good body, marked elegance and more polished tannins than the rest of the hill. Winemaking follows Le Vigne closely — a high proportion of whole berries with some whole bunches, wild-yeast fermentation, slightly longer on skins, then eighteen months in mostly used 500-litre French oak casks, twenty per cent new, and bottling without filtration.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe three-litre format ages very slowly and is made for a long cellar and a full table; serve at 16–18°C with braised beef, wild mushroom risotto or aged Parmigiano.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cem\u003e*Every effort is made to ensure the current vintage is accurate; however, variations can occur.
