It is still family-run. San Giorgio was first made in the 1970s and was one of the earliest Italian wines to combine Sangiovese with Cabernet Sauvignon, in the manner later made famous in Tuscany. The two varieties are blended in equal parts. Large formats age more slowly than standard bottles and are well suited to the cellar.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eA structured red for roast and grilled red meats, game and aged cheeses.
