The blend draws on Albesani, the best known of the three sites; Serraboella, which supplies the largest share and is among the most highly regarded vineyards in eastern Neive, with the estate's vines on the favoured south-west facing slope above the village on lighter soils; and Starderi on the western side of Neive, a sunnier terroir that adds flesh and power. Fermentation is natural and takes place in large wooden fermenters, and the wine is aged for eighteen months in 5,000-litre Slavonian oak casks. Massolino's approach here is the same as in Serralunga, with large-format wood used to frame rather than mark the fruit.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDrinks well from release and will hold ten years or more.
