The blue, iron-rich Sant'Agata marls here are lighter and better aerated than Serralunga's, with more silt and less clay, which gives the vines more vigour and produces a distinctly different style of wine. The family was drawn by the south-east to south-west exposure, the vine age of around 45 years and the elevation of 290 metres. Fermentation and ageing are in large oak, with around two weeks on skins.
