It is a grape of low acidity and gentle tannin, usually made without oak. Massolino has farmed in Serralunga d'Alba since 1896, and the fruit for this wine comes from a well-positioned 3.2-hectare holding within the Serralunga commune, with recent releases also drawing on the family's Cascina I Maschi vineyard in Monforte d'Alba. The winemaking is straightforward and reductive, aimed at preserving the variety's dark fruit and the faintly bitter almond finish that marks good Dolcetto. The wine is bottled under screwcap.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMade to be drunk young, within two or three years of release.
