Massolino is based in Serralunga d'Alba and a good portion of the vines behind this bottling are rooted in the prime calcareous soils there, which is unusual for the style and gives a more savoury, more structured wine than the norm. The grapes are hand-harvested and the wine is made in limited quantity. The result keeps the variety's meadow freshness and floral perfume but adds chalky texture and drive.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDrink young, within a year or two of release.
