Fruit again comes off the south-facing Far Horse block, clone I10V1, cooler than the Chardonnay rows a short distance away. The 2018 season ran a touch warmer than 2017 and gave intensely flavoured Chardonnay with glittering natural acidity. Whole bunches were pressed, the first two-thirds of the juice siphoned into just eight old barriques for a three-month ferment, with one new barrel seasoned by the base as usual. Five years on lees, then three grams per litre.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePotent but delicate: grapefruit, nougat and a creamy mid-palate held taut by a line of acid that runs right through the finish. Serve cold, 7 to 8 degrees.
