They work with growers across the region, with a particular focus on the old sandy sites of Blewitt Springs, and favour gentle, low-intervention winemaking that keeps the emphasis on site and freshness rather than oak or extraction. McLaren Vale is home to some of the world's oldest Grenache, much of it dry-grown on bush vines, and the variety performs particularly well on the region's sandy and stony soils. Silk and Stone is one of the producer's premium Grenache bottlings, made in small quantities with gentle extraction to favour fragrance and fine-grained tannin over weight.
