Jean-Nicolas Méo, whose family estate in Vosne-Romanée is a Burgundy benchmark, makes the wine with partner Jay Boberg, and new French oak plays a supporting role. In 2021 there is anise, pencil lead and a gamey note, then roasted plum, cassis, forest floor, candied fennel and blackberry crumble over dusty, medium-weight tannins.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eGive it time in a decanter and serve just below room temperature with lamb loin, braised rabbit or aged gouda.
