Domaine François Lamarche, run by Nicole Lamarche, holds two lieux-dits here. Montiotes Hautes lies at the top of the clos near the château, on the thinner, better-drained ground; Baudes Basse sits lower down towards the RN74, where the soil is heavier. The vines are between forty and fifty years old. Both parcels are picked together and co-ferment in open-top wooden vats. The result is a much finer, prettier reading of Clos de Vougeot, closer in style to Vosne, where the appellation more often runs to power.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWorth ten years and more in the cellar.
