The 1959 remembrement saw the family trade parcels of Les Gaudichots, now part of La Tâche, along with lots in Echézeaux and Clos Saint-Denis, in return for three parcels of La Grande Rue and a small piece of Les Gaudichots; as Allen Meadows records, no money changed hands. The fruit for this cuvée therefore grows on ground that formed part of La Tâche between 1933 and 1959. The vines have not been replanted since, so they are at least a century old, and in a good year they yield about two barrels. Nicole Lamarche uses a higher proportion of whole bunches here and ferments in tank rather than wood, ageing the wine in a single Cavin barrel of Châtillonnais oak cured for 36 months.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eExceptionally rare and built for the long term, it wants a decade; serve with roast game birds, beef or truffle dishes at 16 to 18°C.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cem\u003e*Every effort is made to ensure the current vintage is accurate; however, variations can occur.
