Historically Chassagne was as much a red wine commune as a white one, and Pinot Noir is still grown here, though Chardonnay has taken the larger share as demand and prices shifted. Olivier Leflaive founded his maison in Puligny-Montrachet in 1984 and works both as a grower and as a négociant, buying fruit from growers across the Côte de Beaune as well as farming his own vines. Village-level Chassagne is fermented and matured in oak barrel, with new wood used sparingly.

Serve at around 11 to 12 degrees with scallops, roast poultry or a gratin; village Chassagne rewards a few years in the cellar but does not demand them.

*Every effort is made to ensure the current vintage is accurate; however, variations can occur.
