The village sits between Volnay and Puligny-Montrachet on limestone slopes, and its sheer size means village-level wine can be assembled from parcels spread across the commune. Olivier Leflaive founded his house in Puligny-Montrachet in 1984 and works as both grower and négociant across the Côte de Beaune.
