Bouzy faces south on the Montagne de Reims, where chalk lies close beneath a thin, warm topsoil, and it is the ripeness of Pinot Noir here rather than any Chardonnay component that gives the wine its shape. The Bara family has worked these parcels since 1833 and reserves the oldest and best sited of them for this cuvée.
