The Bara family has farmed here since 1833 and works around eleven hectares, every parcel inside the village. Grand Millésime is declared only in years the estate considers complete in themselves, built on Pinot Noir from the better sites with Chardonnay for lift, made without recourse to reserve wine and left on lees in the chalk cellars for several years before disgorgement. Dosage is modest, at six grams per litre.
