For red, Pinot Noir is effectively the only grape used, and the style is lighter and earlier drinking than village wine, built on red cherry and raspberry fruit, fresh acidity and fine tannin. Quality depends almost entirely on who is making it and where the parcels sit, and vines bordering the village appellations can give very good results.
