Les Damodes sits at the top of that northern slope, high above the road on thin, stony soil over limestone, with a cooler aspect than the crus below it. The result is a Nuits with unusual lift and finesse, red fruited and floral with fine-grained tannin, while keeping the commune's savoury, earthy signature.
