La Perrière is one of the village lieux-dits on the stonier ground where rock was once quarried, and its whites are cut and chalky, with high natural acidity and a lean, mineral frame rather than the breadth of the villages on the main slope. The appellation was long the value corner of the Côte de Beaune and has become steadily better regarded as warmer vintages have suited its altitude.
