The catchment stretches from Sonoma up into northern Mendocino, which is the whole point of the label. Pax Mahle fermented with whole clusters throughout, aged the wine ten months in neutral French puncheons and bottled it unfiltered. He rates it the best North Coast he has made.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePerfume first, violet and cracked pepper and black olive, then dark-fruited concentration held by fine acid and a saline finish. Decant and serve at 16 degrees.
